OUR STORY
MEET LINO & SYLVIA DI CECCA, THE FOUNDERS
Lino Di Cecca began serving his distinctive Italian recipes when he opened his Italian specialty café called Lettierii’s in the early 1990’s. Following Lettierii's sale, Lino ventured outside of Canada and settled in Vermont where he spent 5 years owning & operating La Pista, an exclusive Italian restaurant featuring favourite family recipes as well as traditional dishes from the whole of Italy.
After 30 years of sharing his culinary talents in his food catering service On the Move and restaurant Pizzeria Dei Sassi, he and his wife Sylvia decided to share their love for Italian food to a larger clientele by opening Chiara Cucina. Inspired by his mother Chiara’s shared Italian recipes, Chiara Cucina was born to provide the most delectable Italian pizzas made from the highest quality and freshest ingredients and made in house to be delivered to homes across Southern Ontario.
IT ALL STARTED WITH HER, MAMMA CHIARA.
Chiara Cucina is named after Chiara Di Cecca, Lino's mother. It is through mamma Chiara that Lino was introduced to the culinary world and later developed a life-long passion for it.
In Chiara's Cucina everything was prepared from scratch. The tomatoes harvested fresh to make sauce or be used in a refreshing caprese salad. The flour used to make the famous materano bread, pasta and tasty treats for her little ones. Fresh seasonal ingredients were put together to make the filling for stuffed pasta, preserves and more.
Chiara had a passion for wholesome, genuinely Italian food and made sure to pass this on to her offspring, Lino Di Cecca. Many of the recipes featured on the menu at Chiara Cucina come from Mamma Chiara herself. Give them a try at the link below.
