To plan an order in 14-pizza cases, convert your expected pizza demand into whole cases and account for stock already available. Check freezer space and order timing before rounding up. A case calculation should support a forecast, not replace it. Chiara Cucina uses the same 14-pizza wholesale case size for its customers. Each pizza is 11 inches, providing a clear purchasing unit for foodservice and retail buyers.
Translate demand into cases
If a business expects to use 28 pizzas over its planned stocking period and has none available, two cases provide that quantity. If it expects 20, two cases leave eight pizzas beyond the forecast. Decide whether that balance is appropriate for your next sales period and storage capacity.
These examples illustrate case arithmetic; they are not recommended purchase quantities for every customer.
Use separate demand forecasts for the flavours you choose. Confirm the available case composition and flavour-order rules with the supplier rather than assuming a mixed case is available.
Check the physical order
Ask for case dimensions and handling information. Fourteen pizzas per case does not tell you the carton’s exact size or how it should be stored. Check actual shelf space before accepting the order.
Count inventory by units as well as cases. An opened case can make a stockroom look fuller than the usable quantity remaining.
Understand special-order arithmetic
Chiara Cucina’s special-order minimum is 10 cases with a 5-day lead time. At 14 pizzas per case, 10 cases represent 140 pizzas. Confirm which requests are treated as special orders and how flavours may be allocated.
Do not treat that special-order minimum as the standard-account minimum; standard-order terms should be confirmed with the team.
Check the case order before it is confirmed
List required pizzas by flavour, current usable stock and the number of cases you propose to buy. Ask the team to confirm case composition and availability before relying on a mixed assortment.
Check the resulting balance against freezer space and the next supply window. The aim is a deliberate order, not automatically rounding every flavour up to another full case.
Common case questions
Can I order one of each flavour in a case? Case composition needs confirmation from the team.
Should I always round up generously? No. Round according to forecast demand, storage and the next confirmed supply window. Excess stock ties up space and purchasing money.
